Metropol

A marvelous hall with beautiful and luxurious ornaments; its walls keep secrets of the Russian history and culture. The unique stained - glass roof, marble  fountain, monumental lamps, cosy stage, splendid acoustics make the Metropol Hall the best place to arrange celebrations and business-like events. The tradition to hold splendid banquets in  the restaurants of the "Metropol" Hotel is over 100 years old. As far back as the early 20^th century, at the time of its "youthfulness", as is  nowadays, the   restaurant has been a favourite meeting place for  business élite and people of art. Many banquets, presentations,  fashionable wedding ceremonies have been held there in the last few years. The recent, especially memorable, event was the "golden wedding" of great musician Mstislav Rostropovich and remarkable singer Galina Vishnevskaya, the International Women's  Forum where about 400 delegates from all over the world were present, the reception in honour of ambassadors given by mayor of Moscow Yu.M. Luzhkov, demonstration of recent collections of Russian modeller  Valentin Yudashkin.
