The Boyarsky restaurant is a sample of Russian festive meal. The decoration of the hall and the menu (the restaurant offers classic Russian cuisine enjoyed by the Russian nobility) testify to the pastiche of "antiquities". A very nice atmosphere, excellent acoustics, live music, all these dispose both to a romantic party and a business banquet. Having visited the restaurant, one feels like touching lightly the history.

Cuisine. The cuisine of the restaurant is a real gift given to the true epicures. Apart from the invariable attributes of Russian cuisine, namely, stellate sturgeon, sturgeon, sterlet, sucking pig and salted foods the visitors are offered exlusive dishes which can be hardly found in any other restaurant. For example, "Hare liver with rucola in a cherry decoction", "Brains mineur on wheaten toasts". Many guests specially come to the restaurant to taste "Pozharsky cutlets", "Pancakes Romanov style with lobsters", "Spit quails". The menu is constantly renovated. Alexander Stepanov, the chef of the Boyarsky restaurant is skilled in the art of culinary and is not frightened about the complicated dishes. Among the latest novelties is "Salad of rucola with mushrooms portobello with Parmesan". One more new appetizer "Avocado with king's prawns, fried egg-plants and various kinds of salad" is very popular with the public, too.

In the restaurant they also offer a vast list of wines. They prepare exclusive aperitifs on the guests desire, for example, "Kir Boyarsky" composed of Russian vodka, Creame de Kasis, lemon, Russian sparkling wine.

ARCHITECTURE  and HISTORY.
The interior of the restaurant is styled as something in between the Russian church (arches, apsides, half-columns) and the boyard chambers. The walls are covered with unique golden painting made by painters Chekhonin, Kuznetsov and Matveev in the beginning of the 20-th century. Unfortunately, in Soviet times the walls were covered with a mere oil-paint and the hall did not answer purpose: they used it as a store, dancing classes and on as a hostel of the people who were sent on official mission. Only in the last ten years a currency restaurant "Russkaya Chainaya" was opened.
At the end of 80-s grave restoraton works were carried out. In order that the initial painting be "free" the restorers were compelled to remove walls several layers of paint from the walls. At present the visitors of the restaurant can estimate true worth of painting splendour: waving wine rods, flying birds, grass interlacing - the golden lace made by the Russian artists.A huge stuffed bear is one of the curiosities of the Boyarsky restaurant. It is not a mere bear but a celebrity to some degree. Eventually, the bear had to move to another place, Metropol where it preferred to stay. It got accustomed to the Boyarsky restaurant as a permanent residence. The bear was honoured with records in memoirs of some well-known people of the 20-century.
