The renovated Metropol Hotel carefully preserves the traditions of Moscow hospitality. One such tradition is the Russian tea ceremony, which originates from the late 18th century.
The tea ceremony at the Metropol is a fresh interpretation of the traditional treats: pancakes with red caviar, original pies and curd patties, mini sandwiches with salmon and roast beef, petit fours, handmade candy, natural marmalade by the hotel’s pastry chef, and a lot of other treats. To make the ceremony more elegant and unforgettable, the tea is served in the Emperor’s china factory cups. Traditionally, an antique silver teapot is the finest jewel of the ceremony and its center.
