Tea ceremony at Chaliapin bar

The renovated Metropol Hotel carefully preserves the traditions of Moscow hospitality. One such tradition is the Russian tea ceremony, which originates from the late 18th century. 

The tea ceremony at the Metropol is a fresh interpretation of the traditional treats: pancakes with red caviar, original pies and curd patties, mini sandwiches with salmon and roast beef, petit fours, handmade candy, natural marmalade by the hotel’s pastry chef, and a lot of other treats. To make the ceremony more elegant and unforgettable, the tea is served in the Emperor’s china factory cups. Traditionally, an antique silver teapot is the finest jewel of the ceremony and its center.

The ceremony cost for 2-4 persons is:

  • at the Chaliapin Bar – 13 000 RUB

    • Also for guests staying at the hotel in-room tea ceremony is available


  • The ceremony is served daily 11.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. in a hotel room or at the Chaliapin Bar. To order a tea ceremony, you need to pre-order at least 24 hours in advance. 
  • Guests booking a table for more than 6 persons will have a service fee of 10% added to their receipt.
  • Certificates will not be exchanged for money. Discounts are not applied to certificates.
  • Certificates are valid for 6 months after purchase dates.
