Design
The Metropol Hall was designed in the Neoclassical style. Its central feature is the magnificent stained glass dome The Creation of the World, created from sketches by Sergey Chekhonin. Four brass floor lamps in the shape of vases illuminate the space, while the walls are adorned with refined bronze sconces. The architect skillfully employed the effect of mirrored reflections: large mirrors visually expand the room and serve as an additional source of light. The walls of the Metropol’s main hall have borne silent witness to many pivotal events in the history of the country.
