Chaliapin Bar
The Chaliapin bar is the successor to Moscow’s first cocktail bar that was opened here at the Metropol Hotel. The bar is remarkable for the historical atmosphere of the early 20thcentury and its adherence to Russian gastronomic traditions. This is the only place where you can try traditional Russian infusions or taste the antique Russian rye vodka, polugar. Bartenders make cocktails of any complexity, including those made according to the Metropol own original recipes. Original cocktail menus, Chaliapin Opera and Legends of the Metropol, have been made in the form of Tarot cards. Try The Master and Margarita, a cocktail inspired by Mikhail Bulgakov’s famous novel in which the Metropol Hotel is mentioned. Or enjoy one of the drinks inspired by the famous novel Gentleman in Moscow.
The traditional Russian tea ceremony and infusion tasting are conducted daily 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m.
Chaliapin is also a comfortable place available to guests for an exquisite breakfast, lunch or dinner in a businesslike environment. All dishes on the menu were designed by the Metropol Executive Chef Andrey Shmakov. The menu allows every guest to enjoy both familiar European dishes in an original interpretation and masterpieces of the traditional Russian cuisine.
